Goodbye Richmond Home

We had your two month check up this week and you are a rock star!  You are weighing in at a hefty 14 pounds (90 percentile) and you are 23 ¾ inches (95 percentile).  During this appointment, you got the first series of most of your shots.  You took the oral medication down like it was formula.  The nurse laughed because she said most babies HATE this medication but you didn’t seem to care.  I told her it was because I thought you thought it was food.  LOL!  You love your food.  The next series of shots was given in both legs.  You SCREAMED.  Mom cried.  It was heartbreaking.  But like the little champ you are, you stopped crying within a couple of minutes.  You never ran a temperature.  You were never grumpy.  You just rolled with it.  You are such an easy going baby.

Besides this appointment, we spent the majority of the week packing.  And packing.  And packing some more.  When we weren’t packing, we did make sure to get some walks in for you.  You love your walks.  I think you will be an outdoorsman when you get a little bigger.

Since our house is still not done, we had to move everything into the new garage and a few boxes went to Mimi and Papa’s.  Your dad and Papa spent a ton of time moving boxes into the garage and getting the house ready by painting and fixed many of the cracks in the walls.  Friday, Gigi came to get Missy and we were able to walk to the house.  On Saturday morning, the movers took care of all of the furniture and remaining boxes.  You and I watched the truck drive out of sight on the porch swing.  It was a surreal feeling.

The driveway isn’t poured yet so your dad had taken out part of the fence in hopes that the moving truck could unload from the alleyway.  Since it had rained earlier in the week, the truck started to sink whenever it was in the alley.  So the movers carted everything in – 150 feet – by dolly.  Our little 2 street move cost $1600!  Uncle Son and 3 of his friends moved into our old house and by the end of the evening, it was as if we had never been there.  Our memories are now all that remain.  There is still progress at the new house but still a ways to go so we moved in with our sweet friends, the Darnells.

You are starting to coo more (saying ma and gee sounds) and smile a ton!  You don’t like your longhorn pacifier as much but it still comforts you to have it around.  You manage to get your feet out of any blanket that we put on you.  You look more and more like your daddy every day.  Your eyes are still blue – there’s still hope for mom!  You are sleeping from 9:30 or 10pm to 6 in the morning.

Eating is serious business.  You love strolling with the homies.  You still think the turtle or any light for that matter are the coolest.
