We are so THANKFUL for you!

Christmas is here….eh…well, Thanksgiving is here and we snuck a little bit of Christmas in beforehand.

Last weekend, Mom and Dad went to the Mavericks game.  You got to stay with Mimi and Papa and you loved it!  We also went to an SMU game right around this time.  We have become basketball rangers.  Not really.  But it’s been fun to see a couple of games together.  On Saturday, we went to the annual Lowest Greenville’s Christmas festival except it was raining and there was only like 15 people that stuck it out – we were three of these people.  We started out Saturday with a run and then we headed to Clarks to get our secret code word.  Clarks was delicious and we met their super sweet manager again who just LOVES you.  You were basically a Clarks celebrity.  Then we went to GAPC for pizza.  And then Liberatine.  It started raining before the Christmas tree lighting and we ran home but it was a really fun day, just the three of us.  The next day, Papa came over and we went to the downtown Dallas Christmas festival at Main Street Gardens.  Santa came in on a helicopter and lit the tree.  There were a lot of fun activities for kids and just a fun atmosphere.  I think I sense a tradition in the making.

You have started slithering on your belly – the first step towards crawling.  Although you also try to stay on your butt and grab for things.  You had your first tooth come in!  Only one.  It’s like the lone saber tooth.

We woke up early Thanksgiving morning and headed downtown for the Turkey Trot.  Every year the Turkey Trot has over 30,000 people participate.  This gets interested because there is very minimal parking.  Lucky for us, your dad is on the board with City Council and had a pass so that we could park in the City Hall garage (where registration was).  We got waved in by police and felt very VIP.  It was great to see all of the funny hats and dressed up dogs.  It took us 45 minutes to even get to the starting line and the course was so packed so we couldn’t run very much.  You slept for some of the race and woke up towards the end.  After we finished there was a petting zoo.  You LOVED petting the goats and horses.  I think we definitely have a little animal lover in our household.

We had your first Thanksgiving at our house this past Thursday and it was perfect.  You had on a sweet little turkey onsie that Mom’s friend Holly made you.  Unfortunately the turkey dismantled itself throughout the day.  First the eyes, then the gobbler and then the feathers body.  The only thing left by the end of the day were the feet.

Mom had a turkey mail ordered in, made mini pumpkin pies and rolls.  Nonnie made her famous mashed potatoes, ham and cran apple.  Gigi made green beans, brought many different types of pickles.  Son made truffle mac an cheese – unbelievably good.  Laura made sweet potatoes and brought a pie.  Brian and Dad fried a turkey and Brian also brought a smoked one he made.  Altogether we had 3 turkeys and a ham for 10 people.  We only ate an hour behind schedule.  It was such a fun time to laugh and catch up at the table.  You tried sweet potatoes – you loved these.  You also tried mashed potatoes – you didn’t really like these.  Spit them out a la green beans.

This past weekend, we started decorating for Christmas.  I apologize in advance little guy.  Your mom loves decorating for Christmas.  Get used to the glitter my friend.

You really like being in the middle of all of the action.  You are very much still FOMO and fight sleeping as much as you can.  You really really love prunes you silly boy.  I think you are the only kid ever to love prunes.  You also like bananas and apples

So, you don't like mashed potatoes which is shocking because you are my kid...and mashed potatoes are pretty much my favorite.  I won't give up.  You will like them some day.

You still royally hate changing clothes or diapers.  You are literally starting to wiggle off the changing table, so mom has been changing you on the floor which presents an epic challenge because then you try to slither over to the knobs which are brass rings.

such a neat picture.  Just walking downtown

I love this picture.  You are literally attacking the turkey gobbler.  Dude, he is just trying to sign up some people for next week's race.

You LOVE this house.  House = hours of entertainment

your mommy loves you so much

I took this picture while out running with you.  You were just lounging away while mom did all of the hard stuff
